Lately, there has been a lot of emphasis on positivity – the human practice of being positive. For the most part, this is a very good thing. Very few of us would advocate going around with a large, black cloud hanging over our heads.

On the other hand, unbridled positivity can become a bit of a problem, if it is used to cover up useful emotions that help us connect with how we are truly feeling inside.

Sooner or later, we will all explode if we bottle up our feelings without first processing them. In order to be genuinely happy, and true to our authentic selves, we need to understand that our responses to present day events are inextricably linked to the way we have emotionally interpreted the past.



Sometimes we can be surprised by our reaction to something – taken aback by strong physical sensations and intense emotions that seem to come out of the blue.
